President - Rachel McCallister

Rachel McCallister moved to the AV in Feb of 2020 when she started working for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics. She graduated from Riverside Community College in 2015 with an AS in Math and Science and from California Polytechnic University of Pomona in 2019 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. She currently works in Utility Systems Fluid Design. She joined SWE while in university and held board positions every year she was an active student which included transfer representative, outreach chair, president and vice president of corporate relations. She looks forward to applying the valuable things earned on her university SWE board to AV SWE board, but is also excited to see what this new experience will bring and the new friends she will make. Her hobbies include pins collecting, hiking, taking pictures, going to Disneyland and volunteering her time.
Vice President - Ellen McIsaac

Ellen McIsaac is a Materials & Processes Manager at Lockheed Martin. Her professional interests are in the area of advanced materials and structures. Ellen is a SWE Life Member and has been active in SWE at the local and society levels since college. She was a 2020 recipient of the SWE Distinguished New Engineer Award. In addition to her work with SWE, Ellen enjoys volunteering with AIAA, FIRST Robotics, and the MIT Alumni Association. At home, Ellen has three small dogs with cheese-themed names.
Treasurer - Joanne Ghika-Budesti

Joanne Ghika-Budesti has an MBA from California State University Northridge and is a Certified Quality Engineer for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, in Palmdale, CA.
SWE Next Chair - Claudine Phaire

Claudine earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from the SUNY at Buffalo, an Airframe and Powerplant certificate from Embry- Riddle Aeronautical University and a Masters degree in Business Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Claudine has worked in various engineering capacities at General Motors, Raytheon (Missiles and Aircraft) and Lockheed Martin (Sikorsky and Skunk Works).
Claudine is very passionate about encouraging young people to enter careers in Engineering and Aviation. She was has held various positions in the National Society of Black Engineers, the Society of Women Engineers, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc, Girl Scouts of Connecticut and is a member of the American Helicopter Society. Claudine served as the Chair of the Sikorsky African American Council of Excellence and is the Palmdale Site lead for the Lockheed Martin Women’s Impact Network. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, traveling, reading and dancing and hopes to finish her pilot’s license soon.

Webmaster - Erin Westbrook

Erin earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University and is pursuing a MS in Interdisciplinary Engineering from Purdue. Erin is a senior materials engineer and has worked in design and sustainment at Lockheed Martin (Skunk Works) and L-3 (Mission Integration). She is an LGBTQ+ Ally.

Girl Scout Outreach Chair - Valerie Kettering

Valerie joined SWE in 2016 while studying Aerospace Engineering at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and joined the Leadership Coaching Committee (LCC) in FY20. In FY22, she is serving as a Leadership Coaching Lead for the LCC. Previously, Valerie served as a Cal Poly SLO SWE collegiate section officer for four years, culminating in a term as President, and participated in the SWE Future Leader program in FY19. Valerie has been honored with multiple SWE awards including the FY20 SWE Outstanding Collegiate Member Award. Valerie works for the Air Force Civilian Service as an Electronic Warfare/Airdrop Engineer at Edwards Air Force Base, CA. In her free time, she enjoys community outreach, running, hiking, and bullet journaling.
